George M. Hetrick, Jr., 86, formerly of Harrisburg & Womelsdorf, passed away in the early morning hours Thursday, February 19, 2026, at WillowBrook Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Kutztown. He was the husband of Kathleen L. Hetrick, neé Barker. Born Friday, August 11, 1939, in West Reading he was a son of the late George M. Hetrick, Sr. & Mary A. Hetrick, née Nulk. A graduate of Franklin and Marshall College and San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. George also served in the US Army. He was an active funeral director from 1964, working for his fathers firm in Harrisburg and later purchasing the former Hershey Funeral Home in Womelsdorf in 1975, and establishing the GM Hetrick Jr Funeral Home, where he proudly served his community for 33 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Deborah Overley of Port Charlotte, FL, George M. Hetrick III companion of Vanessa Sherrer of Kutztown, PA, Matthew D Hetrick husband of Christy of Kutztown, PA; 9 Grandchildren: Mark Seidel, Andrew Seidel, Stephanie Hetrick, Jessica Hetrick, Hannah Hetrick, Darcy Overley, Grace Hetrick, Will Overley, Wyatt Hetrick; 3 Great grandchildren: Jaice Seidel, River Seidel, Colton Seidel; Siblings: Graham Hetrick, Judy Riley, & Jill Calhoun. Memorial services will be held TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2026, at 2 PM from the Mull Funeral Home (the former Hetrick Funeral Home) 27 E High St., Womelsdorf, with the Rev. J. Robert Kehrli, officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family TUESDAY, from 1 PM until time of service at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be private in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. www.mullfh.com
